The need for quality, comprehensive mental health care has never been greater.
At Flowstate Health, we exist to meet that need by connecting individuals of all ages and backgrounds to services that make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Flowstate began by bringing high-quality behavioral health care directly to residents in senior living communities. From those early roots, our work has grown organically to include crisis response, jail-based behavioral health, and expanded outpatient services. That growth has been driven by strong relationships, word of mouth, and a reputation for showing up when communities need support most. Today, Flowstate is Iowa’s largest provider of behavioral health services in county jails. We proudly serve all 99 counties and are a trusted partner to hospitals, senior living communities, and public agencies across the state.
From crisis evaluations and placement coordination for hospital partners to therapy and medication support in senior care and outpatient settings, our team works around the clock to meet people where they are. We recognize that every individual and every community is different, which is why we design mental health solutions that reflect the unique needs of the populations we serve.
As demand for behavioral health services continues to grow, Flowstate partners with public and private organizations across Iowa to deliver psychotherapy, medication management, crisis evaluation and placement, and other essential supports. Guided by a skilled, multidisciplinary team, we combine clinical excellence with a patient-first approach to strengthen communities—one person and one partnership at a time.
Flowstate is grounded in a culture of flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. We value dedication, accountability, and strong partnerships, and we foster an environment where our team can adapt, innovate, and deliver care in ways that truly make a difference.
Our Impact
Flowstate Health designs and delivers custom-built mental health programs that meet communities where they are. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model, we work closely with correctional systems, hospitals, senior living communities, schools, and professional associations to develop programs that address real-world needs and produce lasting impact.
All Flowstate services are organized into three core service areas: Crisis, Jail-Based Behavioral Health, and Outpatient, allowing us to provide comprehensive, coordinated support across the continuum of care.
Looking Ahead
At Flowstate Health, we believe the future of mental health care depends on collaboration, creativity, and a shared commitment to solving the systemic barriers that prevent people from accessing care. Across crisis response, jail-based behavioral health, and outpatient programs, our work is focused on identifying long-standing gaps and building practical solutions that reflect the realities of the communities and systems we serve.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to thoughtful growth across Iowa—strengthening hospital partnerships, expanding population-specific outpatient programs, and continuing to improve access for underserved and marginalized groups. Whether embedding care in jails, senior living communities, and schools, or delivering flexible outpatient services through telehealth, our goal is to create models that are sustainable, effective, and responsive to real-world needs.
We welcome opportunities to collaborate with new public and private partners to design programs that address unmet needs and strengthen Iowa’s behavioral health infrastructure. Every partnership begins with a conversation, and every conversation has the potential to lead to meaningful, lasting impact.
